The Winery

Our House

Zorzal Wines was established in 2008 with the mission of showcasing the viticultural excellence of Gualtallary, located in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, to the world. Today, the winery is backed by Canadian and Chilean investments.

Nestled in the heart of Gualtallary and surrounded by 70 hectares of vineyards and open fields, the winery boasts state-of-the-art technology at every stage of winemaking, from crushing and fermentation to aging and storage.

Zorzal draws its inspiration from the mountains and the "noble-spirited terroir." This unique region, situated at 1,350 meters above sea level, is the highest wine-producing area in Mendoza, lying at the foothills of the majestic Tupungato volcano. Its distinctive climatic conditions—sun-filled days, significant temperature variation, low rainfall, and calcareous soils—allow the creation of fresh wines with remarkable structure and vibrant acidity.

tecnology in zorzal wine

With the goal of producing natural wines of the highest quality, our winery was designed with four levels to allow the transport of grapes and wine by gravity, minimizing the use of pumps.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, our winery features a state-of-the-art New Zealand temperature control system that can be operated remotely via the Internet from anywhere in the world.

Innovation in the Enology

In our quest to capture the fullest expression of the terroir, we continually innovate in our minimal intervention winemaking approach. This includes the use of roll fermentors, concrete eggs, amphorae, and other vessels, as well as staggered harvesting and micro-vinifications in oak barrels.

For aging our wines, we use 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels, along with 2,000-liter foudres, aiming to create finer and more elegant wines. Additionally, we employ concrete eggs to enhance the purity, vibrancy, intensity, power, energy, and liveliness of our wines.

Commitment to Authenticity
