Zorzal was founded in 2008 with the aim of promoting gualtallary, which was a rather un-explored wine region at that time. Today the winery is part of grupo belén and a canadian investment group, Zorzal inc.
The winery is located in the center of gualtallary and surrounded by 70 hectares of vineyards and land. It is equipped with the latest-generation technology for crushing, fermentation, and aging.
To achieve natural wines of the highest quality, the winery was designed on four levels to transport the grapes, musts, and wines by gravity with the minimal use of pumps.
It also has an automatic temperature control system from New Zealand that can be operated remotely online from anywhere in the world.
As part of our quest to obtain the very best of our gualtallary terroir, we are constantly innovating our equipment and processes and have incorporated the use of roll fermenters, cement eggs, amphorae, etc., as well as differentiated harvests and micro-vinifications in barrels.
WE AGE OUR WINES IN:
– 225- and 500-Liter french oak barrels and 2,000-Liter fouders with the objective of achieving elegant fine wines.
– Cement eggs to preserve the purity, nerve, intensity, potency, life, and electricity of the wines.
